Understanding capacitance and capacitors

The first and second notes sheets describe how a capacitor works and defines capacitance. The third explains how to calculate the total capacitance of capacitors in series and parallel. The last two sets of notes explain the mathematical pattern, which is an exponential change, in the rate at which a capacitor charges or discharges and how the value of the capacitor and the resistance in the circuit is related to the time constant.
